My name is Beth Anne Leckey and I have been teaching piano, vocal music, and musicianship since 2001. I graduated from North Allegheny High School in Wexford, PA in 1997. I followed my passion for music and went to Penn State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education with an emphasis in choral music and piano pedagogy. Following graduation, I knew I wanted to continue to have my own piano studio and perform, so I went to Duquesne University where I received a Masters Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy.
After graduation, I began my teaching career at Gateway School District in Monroeville, PA where I taught K-6 general and choral music. I love teaching elementary music and developed my foundation for teaching music literacy and appreciation while teaching at Gateway. In 2005, I was hired at North Allegheny School District to teach middle school choir and high school Advanced Placement Musicianship. In addition, I served as the staff accompanist for the high school spring musicals. During this time, I focused my training on the changing voice, choral conducting, advanced musicianship, composition, and technology.
I am currently teaching piano in my private studio and serve as the vocal director for North Allegheny's High School fall and spring musical. I also teach elementary vocal music at Ingomar Elementary School at North Allegheny and have a 4th and 5th grade chorus. I teach students of all levels and abilities and enjoy every experience I have with my amazing students!
