About

Mrs. Beth Anne Leckey

I am thrilled to be back in the NA school district. I graduated from North Allegheny Senior High School in 1997. While I attended North Allegheny, I was actively involved in the music program and class council. I had a wonderful experience as a student at NA and now it is an honor to be teaching in the district that helped to set a strong foundation for my professional career.

After graduating from North Allegheny, I attended Penn State Univeristy and majored in Music Education with an emphasis in choral music and piano pedagogy. During my last semester, I moved to Harrisburg, PA to complete my student teaching at Central Dauphin School District. I taught K-8 general music and choral music. Following graduation in 2001, I decided to purse a full-time Master's Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Duquense University. I spent two years focusing on piano performance and the art of teaching piano. While working on my degree, I was a Graduate Assistant in the musicianship department where we focused on music theory, aural skills, and keyboard skills. I recieved excellent training from both Penn State University and Duquesne University and am very thankful for the practical experiences I had at both Universities.

Following Graduation from Duquesne University in 2003, I received a job at Gateway School District in Monroeville, PA. I taught K-6 choral music and general music for three years. I loved teaching elementary music and I truly enjoyed working in the district. I had an excellent experience at Gateway. In 2006 I recieved the job at North Allegheny. I teach 8th grade choir at Carson Middle School in the morning and Advanced Placement Music at the High School in the afternoon. I have also served as staff accompanist for the NA Spring Musicals since 2006. In addition to teaching at North Allegheny, I have a private piano studio in Gibsonia and am an active musican in the Pittsburgh area.

I am very fortunate to have turned my passion into a career. I look forward to another great year of working with talented students, supportive parents, and a professional staff at North Allegheny.
